When I play music on Windows 7 I have a good sound from built-in speakers and from external speakers too. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author’s experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. I had no idea Wine could work with drivers aswell. No such problem under XP on same hardware.

On the same computer was no problem with 8. See full activity log. Today when I turned my system on I don’t have lonux sound.

I installed Wine lonux it appears to be running fine, however when I try and install the Realtek package, although it installs OK, I cant seem to get the application to run. Turns out I didn’t do either, but rather just used “alsamixer -c 0” and two of the sliders were set real low despite the Pulseaudio volume control being maxed on every channel.

Sounds works fine on Alsa Well my browser crashed and I lost the page. The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2. I did find some drivers under “HD Audio”, “others” section of the Realtek site, and ive managed to install those however, and linuz I have sound.

My jaunty is up to date. Looking at logging a bug with Alsa rather than starting a new thread.

I know this is just a guess, probably not working – linyx there was a time in my linux audio history, where changing these levels made a higher output happen Soundblaster Live years ago – alsa was just included into the kernel Peter.
